The Nevada County Assessor, Rolf Kleinhans, is the elected official responsible to oversee the location of taxable property, identify ownership, and establish value for the annual tax assessment roll.
The Auditor-Controller Property Tax Division is responsible for the calculation and preparation of the secured, unsecured, unitary, and supplemental property tax bills; maintaining the property tax rolls and tax allocation systems; processing roll corrections and property tax refunds; allocating and accounting for property tax appointment and assessments.
The Clerk of the Board is the official keeper of documents, agendas, minutes and administrative contracts for the Board of Supervisors, the Nevada County Housing Authority, the Nevada County Sanitation District No. 1, and the Assessment Appeals Board.
The Nevada County Treasurer, Michelle Bodley is the elected treasurer for the County of Nevada, and is also the ex officio treasurer for every public entity within the geographic boundary of Nevada County.
