Educator Cards
Teachers from Pre-K through 12th grade can apply for a separate card that allows them to supplement school resources to help bridge material gaps. Teachers can have an Educator Card in addition to a regular library account.
Educator cards include the following:
- No limit on items borrowed
- Request up to 50 items
- No late fees
- 60 day loan period
- Access to many of our digital resources
WHO QUALIFIES?
Educators who are employed by an educational institution in Nevada County including public and private schools, certified home-schools, licensed child-care providers, recreational leaders, and student educators.

EXPIRATION AND RENEWAL
Once registered, you card will be valid through June 30th of the current school year. Educator Cards must be renewed, and eligibility confirmed each year.

- Telescopes, hotspots and other equipment
- Certain streaming formats may be excluded subject to the terms and conditions in Terms of Service.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Can I get an Educator Card in addition to my regular personal library card?
A: YES! The Educator Card is intended to help you support your students' success in school and should be used to check out materials for your classroom. Materials and resources for your own personal use should be checked out using your general library card.
Q: Why does the library need to know what grade level being taught?
A: It helps the Youth Services Department in identifying how well the Nevada County Library is serving the needs of our community educators and their students in our county.
Q: My student lost a book that I had checked out on my Educator Card account. What can I do?
