The Nevada County Library welcomes the opportunity to support and promote the creative and literary expression of our community. Local authors are encouraged to submit their titles to be included in the Local Author Collection.
Authors who live in Nevada County may submit a copy of their book to be considered for inclusion in the Library’s collection. These submissions will be given consideration for addition based on the Library’s Materials Selection Policy. Only bound physical books will be accepted for consideration. Once items are donated to the Library they become the property of the Library and cannot be returned to the author or donating party. Items included in the collection will be interfiled in their respective collections and receive a Local Author sticker on their spines.
As with all library materials, the Library will apply the same inclusion and retention guidelines as stated in the general Materials Selection Policy. The library reserves the right to include or exclude any title from the collection for any reason. The library’s decision whether to include a title in the collection is final and we cannot discuss an individual’s work once the decision has been made.
The Library will not provide professional reviews, promotion, or marketing of an author’s work, whether the materials are included or excluded.
