April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, which is a time for communities to rally together to build caring connections, supportive environments, and positive experiences for children and families. The Child Abuse Prevention Council of Western Nevada County (CAPC) and Nevada County encourage everyone to support children in their communities by prioritizing and collaborating with families. All month we will be bringing awareness to Child Abuse Prevention Month by encouraging individuals and organizations to WEAR BLUE FOR KIDS every Friday.
On April 25th, the Child Abuse Prevention Councils in both Western and Eastern County will partner to host a virtual HOPE Training. HOPE – Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences – represents a paradigm shift in how we see and talk about the positive experiences that support children’s growth and development into healthy, resilient adults. The HOPE framework helps transform our work by actively promoting key positive childhood experiences that drive well-being for children, families, and communities. HOPE begins with a shift in mindset that calls on each of us to identify, celebrate, and promote individual and family strengths in each moment.
This FREE training will be open to the public and is designed for parents/caregivers, family-serving providers, community members, and anyone else who is interested in learning more about the positive impacts we can have in a child's life. The training is scheduled for April 25, from 5:30pm - 7:30pm via ZOOM.
