The Grass Valley School District's Community Connection Center is hosting an FREE informative Vaccination Education Series titled "Protecting Our Children," aimed at educating parents and guardians about the importance of vaccines for different age groups. The series, in collaboration with UC Davis Health Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing and Nevada County Public Health, will be held at the Community Connection Center located at 235 S Auburn St., Grass Valley, CA 95945.
The series includes three sessions:
- Vaccines for 2-10 year-olds
- Date: August 1
- Time: 10:15 - 11:45 am
- Vaccines for 11-18 year-olds
- Date: August 15
- Time: 10:15 - 11:45 am
- Vaccines for birth to 23-month-olds
- Date: August 22
- Time: 10:15 - 11:45 am
Each session will be led by UC Davis nursing students and their instructor, who will discuss the diseases vaccines help prevent, the vaccine schedules for each age group, typical side effects, and common vaccine myths. The sessions will conclude with a discussion and Q&A segment.
