Interested Nevada County residents, including representatives of community organizations and service providers, are invited to participate and share their views regarding the needs of very low-income populations of all ages. The information gathered at the forums will contribute to the needs assessment process required as a part of the 2026/27 Community Action Plan (CAP). The CAP is part of the application process for ongoing Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funding for supportive service programs.
Comments may be directed on broad issues of poverty, unemployment, educational attainment, health, nutrition, housing, homelessness, crime rates, transportation, incidents of delinquency, obstacles and problems that block the achievement of self-sufficiency (family and individual), and economic opportunity. More generally, the County would like to hear ideas about services or programs that assist low-income populations in achieving self-sufficiency. Supporting data is encouraged.
Those who wish to speak at a Forum will be allowed 5 minutes to make his/her presentation. The facilitator will ask if anyone wants to speak throughout the forum.
