Did you know that May is National Foster Care Awareness and Foster Parent Appreciation month? In Nevada County, we celebrate children and families each year with the annual Raise them Up Fair. Many agencies from around the county will join Foster Youth Services and Child Welfare Services to host fun and informative booths, a free barbeque lunch, and great family entertainment.
This year, Wild Things Conservation Ambassadors will be on site with some furry and scaley friends to introduce to our families, and Izzy Toonisky will be back again to amaze onlookers with his impressive juggling skills. This event is free and open to all foster, adoptive, and guardianship families as well as community members who would like to learn more about how they can support children in foster care. The fair is being held on May 31 from 10am-2pm at 848 Gold Flat Rd. in Nevada City.
We hope to see you there.
