County Executive Office
This office is responsible to the Board of Supervisors for the proper and efficient administration of all County offices, departments, institutions and special districts under the jurisdiction of the County of Nevada. That is, we manage the operations of the many departments within the County government so they can properly provide services to our citizens.
The Environmental Health Department is responsible for carrying out a diverse range of programs with environmental protection and public health as our focus. Environmental Health uses State of California Health and Safety Codes as guidance, as well as our County codes when conducting plan review, inspections, and educational programs that will positively impact the public health of the citizens and visitors to Nevada County.
The Nevada County Department of Agriculture, under direction of the California Department of Food and Agriculture, is responsible for conducting regulatory and service functions pertaining to agricultural in Nevada County.
Health & Human Services Agency
Through the services of its departments and its administrative unit, HHSA develops and implements programs that fulfill the County’s obligation and commitment to provide health and human services to its residents.
We are a department that serves the County's Board of Supervisors by performing human resources functions for nearly 800 employees.
