Excellence in Financial Reporting

The Auditor-Controller is responsible for the preparation and completion of the County’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), a task which has brought the office recognition, earning the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting presented by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The ACFR provides detailed financial information regarding the County's financial position and activities and complies with the reporting requirements for state and local governments.


Standards

The Auditor-Controller’s office adheres to all governmental accounting and reporting standards guidelines as established by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Additionally, complies with the Accounting Standards and Procedures for Counties manual.


This manual is published by the State Controller to provide uniformity of accounting procedures and to serve as a guide for the installation of accounting and financial systems across all counties in the State of California. The Financial Reporting Unit's goal is to facilitate and increase the accessibility of accurate and timely operational, financial, and statistical information to management and to the public.
