Certified System Service Providers (CSSP)

Property owners with non-standard or treatment-type septic systems which were permitted on or after July 1, 1998, are required to perform annual maintenance and monitoring (M & M) of their systems. Also, property owners are required to record their M & M and the Right of Entry Agreement with the Department of Environmental Health.

As a property owner, you need to select a qualified Certified System Service Provider (CSSP). Only a Certified System Service Provider (CSSP) may provide M & M services. A CSSP is a person or organization having received training and been tested and “certified” for specific systems. CSSPs may only conduct service on systems for which they are qualified or trained to maintain. (Reference: Nevada County LAMP, Effective 6/7/2018; Ordinance No. 2448)

NCDEH requires CSSPs to provide current evidence of education, training, certifications, and/or licenses and to pay the annual Board-approved registration fee. (The following list of CSSP was updated on 03/26/2021.)
