Title 25 refers to a section of state housing regulations which allows owners in rural zones to bypass certain requirements such as mandatory solar system installation, fire sprinklers or engineered construction documents - as long as minimum health and safety standards are met. Owners are allowed to immediately rent out properties they build if desired.

- Search for your parcel using your address or APN number. Click the Report link.
- Note the zoning and general plan designations of your parcel.
- Go to the layers tool and select the community boundaries layer. Note if your parcel is within a highlighted area or not.
- View the final ordinance below and to to the definition of "rural". Compare your zoning, general plan and community boundaries designations.
- Your zoning and general plan designations must match the ordinance.
- If you parcel is in a community region and rural center your parcel does NOT qualify.
