Established in 1971, the Friends is an independent organization that supports the Truckee Library.
Mission
The mission of the Friends of the Truckee Library is to focus community attention on the continuing value and health of our library as a cultural, educational, and recreational asset.
Cultural Community Events
The Friends sponsor cultural community events such as Poetry Readings, Publishing Workshops, year-round Book Sales, Best Sellers books, and "Truckee Reads," a town-wide reading project with a weekend of book discussions and programs.
The Friends promote and support the Library's offerings for children such as the Winter and Summer Reading Programs.
Fundraising
The Friends raise money throughout the year to fund these and other projects for the Truckee Library. Gifts to the Friends of the Truckee Library are tax-deductible.
