WM (Waste Management) operates the three (3) transfer stations in Western Nevada County; McCourtney Road Transfer Station (MRTS), North San Juan transfer station and The Town of Washington Transfer Station. In addition, they provide curbside garbage collection service to residents of Unincorporated Nevada County. Currently curbside collection services in unincorporated Nevada County includes (3) bins; black for regular waste, green for organic waste and blue for co-mingled recyclables.
WM contracts separately with the City of Grass Valley and Nevada City to provide curbside garbage collection service.
