While it has been hot outside all week, winter is just around the corner! The Nevada County Purchasing Agent, on behalf of Health and Human Services' Department of Housing and Community Services, is requesting brief proposals from all interested providers for the operation of an Emergency Severe Weather Shelter for homeless individuals and families.
The goal of this request is to select a provider for an emergency shelter on days that the County has designated as meeting severe weather requirements during the coming winter months. The shelter would operate between the hours of 4 p.m. and 7 a.m. during severe weather events. The shelter will provide clean, safe shelter for a minimum of thirty individuals per night who are in need of a warm place to ride out a winter storm.
An electronic copy of the request for Emergency Severe Weather Shelter proposals may be downloaded from Nevada County Purchasing’s website. Potential offerors must register with the County in order to be notified of addenda and other notices. To register, please send an email to desiree.belding@co.nevada.ca.us indicating "Emergency Severe Weather Shelter Operations - Registration" in the subject field. If you do not receive a reply to this email indicating that you have been registered, please call (530) 265-1557.
