Calling all poets! Nevada County Arts Council, the Nevada County Library, and the County of Nevada are collaborating on an exhibition of poetry to kick off the 2023 Sierra Poetry Festival season. Nevada County residents of all ages are invited to submit poems by Monday, March 6th to be displayed in the exhibition.
If selected, your written piece will be displayed in the Eric Rood Center lobby throughout National Poetry Month in April.
Submission Guidelines
- The theme of the exhibition is Belonging. We invite submissions that explore your own interpretation of this theme.
- Written works in a variety of poetic styles and formats will be accepted. Submissions are open to emerging and experienced poets of all ages living in Nevada County.
- Poems must be able to fit onto one side of an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper and should be submitted framed.
- Poems may be typed or handwritten but must be clearly legible.
- The deadline to send us your poem is Monday, March 6th.

Poets will be notified if they are selected by Friday, March 10th. Poets will be expected to deliver their framed poem to Nevada County Arts Council’s office in downtown Nevada City by March 15th.
