Alex has been a Nevada County Sheriff’s Office 911 dispatcher since 2019. She’s personally handled several impactful calls—calls that she will never forget, but it’s the calls where lives are saved and solutions are reached that keep her headset on.
“It’s important to remember that with every bad call, there is a happy one where you help someone in a positive way and know you made a difference in their life,” she said. “My favorite calls are being able to help reunite lost dogs with their owners. I love happy endings!”
As a dispatcher, Alex plays a direct role in the outcome of critical incidents, medical emergencies, and more. Her ability to multitask and gather information quickly continues to make the world of difference in the outcome of calls. “It’s long hours but also the most rewarding job I have ever had,” she said.
When she’s not dispatching, Alex makes time to hike, hit the beach, or enjoy a relaxing spa day. She makes a point to take care of herself so she can take care of others when crises unfold. Thank you, Alex, for answering our calls and sending help every day.
