Nevada County's Health and Human Services Agency Division of Housing and Community Services now has funding to provide home ownership opportunities to first time home buyers. The HOME First-time Homebuyers' (FTHB) Program provides low to moderate income residents who are first-time homebuyers the financial assistance needed to own a home in the unincorporated areas of Nevada County.
The HOME First-time Homebuyers' Program can provide down payment gap assistance to families who are first-time homebuyers. A first-time homebuyer is an individual who has not owned a principle residence during the three years prior to the purchase of the property with the HOME loan. Prior to submitting an application, applicants must obtain a prequalification letter from a primary lender. Applications submitted without a prequalification letter are considered incomplete and will not be reviewed.
