The Planning Department applies community land use policies and strives to meet the needs of individuals and businesses. It is our goal to protect the environment to ensure that Nevada County remains a desirable place to live, work, and recreate.
The Department will provide services through email and phone, plus:
New project submittals and walk-in appointments are accepted from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The lobby is open on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

On Aug. 27, the Planning Department conducted a public workshop, "How to Engage with the Nevada County Planning Department," so that members of the public could learn how the department works, how to get involved, and how to comment on new development proposals.
