Project Overview
The roundabout improvements at the intersections of Rough and Ready Highway/Ridge Road and Ridge Road/Adams Ave have three primary goals.
- Reduce delays caused by stop-and-go traffic and the carbon emissions produced by vehicles idling and waiting.
- Improve safety by reducing accidents caused by improper turning and right-of-way violations.
- Enhances pedestrian safety by adding new multi-use pathways and crosswalks.
This project will add substantial pedestrian improvements, including approximately 1.1 miles of pedestrian/bike paths and designated bike lanes along Ridge Road, through the roundabout, and continuing approximately 700 feet along Adam Ave. Designated bike lanes will be directly adjacent to the roadway, and the pedestrian/bike paths will be separate from the roadway.
