Alcohol & Drug Use Prevention: Find information on the programs we support to reduce youth use and access to drugs and alcohol, including cannabis. This include Prescription Drug Take-Back and multiple community partnership.
CalFresh Healthy Living: Our CalFresh Healthy Living program works to develop and support policy, systems, and environmental changes in our community that build healthy choices as easy choices.
Oral Health Program: The program mission is to educate the community about oral health, and to help the public access oral health resources.
Suicide Prevention Education: The Nevada County Public Health Department’s Suicide Prevention program seeks to reduce the factors that increase suicide risk while increasing the factors that protect people from suicide. We do this through education, outreach and training, as well as community collaborations.
Tobacco Prevention: Our program educates the community about the harmful effect of tobacco products on individuals and the environment.
WIC: Nevada County WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) is a program that helps pregnant women, new mothers, infants and young children eat well, stay healthy and be active. WIC helps families by providing WIC cards, similar to EBT cards, to buy healthy supplemental foods, as well as nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and help finding healthcare and other community services.
