SB978 Corrections Training

Senate Bill 978 (Bradford) was approved by Governor Brown on September 30, 2018, taking effect January 1, 2020. This legislation requires Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) and local law enforcement agencies to publish education and training material on their Internet Web sites. 

Standards and Training for Corrections (STC)-BSCC site establishes collaborative efforts with local corrections systems to improve the professional competence of local corrections staff in California.

Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) site hosts training material utilized by the Nevada County Sheriff's Office Corrections Division, specifically Supervisors and Jail Training Officers.

The ServSafe site hosts training material utilized by the Nevada County Sheriff's Office Corrections Division, specifically food service staff.

Several pieces of training are provided to local corrections staff by instructors within our division. These have been approved by the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) and are listed below. Any pieces of training provided by other providers are listed by the calendar year attended.
